Vita Group's David McMahon steps down as joint CEO

Maxine HorneJanuary 31, 2013, Albion, Australia - Vita Group, an owner of telecommunications retail chains, announced that co-founder and current joint CEO, Maxine Horne, would become sole CEO of the group following the decision by David McMahon to step down as joint CEO and board director.
Ms. Horne Co-founded Vita Group Ltd. and has been its Joint Chief Executive Officer since November 2007 and General Manager of Next Byte since January 21, 2011. Ms. Horne has also been instrumental in the integration of Fone Zone's previous acquisitions. She serves as the General Manager at Next Byte Holdings Pty Ltd. She served as the Chief Operating Officer of Vita Group Ltd.

Ms. Horne has more than 17 years’ experience in the mobile communications industry in the United Kingdom and Australia. Ms. Maxine serves as a Director of Vita Group Ltd. Ms. Horne received the President's Award at the 2005 NSW ARA Awards for Excellence, and was named QBR Business Woman of the Year, Retail in 2006.

Mr. McMahon Co-Founded Vita Group Ltd. in January 1995 and has been its Joint Chief Executive Officer since November 2007. Mr. McMahon served as the Chief Executive Officer of Fone Zone Group Limited and was responsible for guiding its future strategic direction. He has more than 16 years of experience in Mobile Communications industry in United Kingdom and Australia.

Mr. McMahon serves as Director of Vita Group Ltd and Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association (AMTA). He was awarded the prestigious Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (Northern Region) in recognition of his outstanding business strategy and management skills in 2001, and received a Merit Award for Excellence for Individual Achievement at the 2006 National Retail Awards.

The leadership changes take effect immediately, but Mr. McMahon will remain with the Group until 30 June to assist in a seamless transition.
