Val Soranno Keating to step down as Barclaycard CEO

Val Soranno KeatingMay 13, 2015, London, United Kingdom - Barclays has announced that the CEO of Barclaycard, Val Soranno Keating, has decided to pursue a new professional challenge outside the bank.
Ms. Soranno Keating joined Barclaycard in June 2009 after a 16-year career at American Express, where she was a member of the Global Management team and held a variety of senior executive positions.

Prior to American Express, she spent eight years as a management consultant with A.T. Kearney where she advised Fortune 500 companies on operational excellence and business strategy.

Ms. Soranno Keating is a member of the Board of Visa Europe, chairs the Barclays Global Payment Council and is Chairman of the Board of Barclays Bank of Delaware.

Amer Sajed, CEO of Barclaycard US, will take interim charge of the Barclaycard business following Ms. Soranno Keating's departure while an internal and external search for a successor is conducted.
