United Technologies names SVP, government relations

Timothy J. McBrideFebruary 19, 2015, Hartford, Conn., USA - United Technologies Corp. announced the appointment of Timothy J. McBride as senior vice president, government relations, effective March 2, 2015.
Mr. McBride comes to UTC from Covidien where he most recently served as Vice President, Global Government Affairs. He has also held leadership positions at DaimlerChrysler, the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac), and Sunoco.

Earlier in his career, Mr. McBride served in a number of senior positions in government.

He was a member of George H.W. Bush's Vice Presidential and Presidential staffs, serving as the President's personal aide for five years.

He also served as Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Trade Development, where his responsibilities included helping U.S. companies increase exports.

Later, he returned to the White House as Assistant to the President for Management and Administration with operational responsibility for a variety of government facilities and programs, including the Marine One and Air Force One squadrons.

Mr. McBride succeeds Gregg Ward, who will retire later this year after a transition period.
