Two directors to resign from Bumi

BumiMarch 5, 2013, London, United Kingdom - Bumi, a coal group, announces that Philip Yeo and Sony B. Harsono have informed the board of their intention to step down as directors.
Mr. Yeo is Chairman of SPRING Singapore, the Singapore Government’s development agency with the mission of enabling and growing Local Enterprises, especially Small and Medium Enterprises. He is a member of the United Nations Committee of Experts in Public Administration (CEPA), established by the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) for the promotion and development of public administration and governance among Member States, in connection with the United Nations Development Agenda.

Mr. Yeo is also Chairman of SingBridge International Investments, a wholly owned subsidiary of Temasek Holdings; Chairman of Accuron Technologies; Chairman of Medical Technologies Investment Company Holdings; and Chairman of Ascendas Property Fund Trustee.

He is also a member of the Board of Directors of City Development Ltd (CDL) and Hitachi of Japan; he was Special Adviser for Economic Development (Prime Minister’s Office), Chairman of the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Senior Adviser for Science and Technology, and Chairman of the Economic Development Board (EDB).

Mr. Yeo was also Co-Chairman of EDB and a member of the Board of Directors of United Overseas Bank from 2001 to June 2012. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Industrial Engineering) 1970 and an honorary Doctorate of Engineering 1997 from the University of Toronto, Canada, a Master of Science (Systems Engineering) from the then University of Singapore and a Master’s in Business Administration from Harvard University.

Mr. Yeo received the honorary degree of Doctor of Medicine from Karolinska Institutet, Sweden, he was awarded the Doctor of Science degree by Imperial College London UK, and he was awarded the Doctor of Letters degree by the National university of Singapore and the Doctor of Law degree from Monash University of Australia.

Mr. Harsono has been a professional business advisor for more than 30 years. He spent most of his career working for major international accounting firms, including three years in Melbourne, Australia, before setting up his own business advisory practice. He was Chairman of a major accounting firm in Indonesia and is now CEO of Harsono Strategic Consulting.

Mr. Harsono e is currently Chairman of the Indonesia-Japan Economic Committee of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KADIN), a member of the Board of Advisors to the United States-Indonesia Society (USINDO), Independent Non-Executive Director of Bumi, Independent Commissioner PT Harum Energy Tbk, and Independent Commissioner PT Tokio Marine Indonesia, a subsidiary of Tokio Marine, Japan.
