Tullow Oil appoints Dorothy Thompson as interim chair

Dorothy ThompsonTullow Oil, an oil and gas company, announced that Dorothy Thompson has been appointed executive chair on a temporary basis.
Ms. Thompson most recently spent 12 years as Chief Executive Officer for Drax Group plc, the international power and energy trading company.

Before joining Drax, Ms. Thompson was vice president of the global independent power generation company InterGen Services Inc, managing its European business.

Ms. Thompson previously worked for PowerGen plc as head of project finance having started her career in development banking with the Commonwealth Development Corporation and the National Development Bank of Botswana, roles that Dorothy gained significant experience in emerging markets in Africa.

In addition, she spent nine years as a non-executive director of Johnson Matthey where she served on the Audit, Remuneration and Nominations Committees.

Ms. Thompson holds BSc (Hons) and MSc degrees in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2013 for services to the UK electricity industry.
