Philipp Humm resigns as T-Mobile USA CEO

Philipp HummJune 28, 2012, Bellevue, Wa., USA - T-Mobile USA, a Deutsche Telekom AG unit, announced that Philipp Humm resigned as chief executive officer.
Mr. Humm has been with T-Mobile USA since July 2010 and was named chief executive officer at November 2010. From 2009-2010, Mr. Humm wa Chief Regional Officer and a member of the Executive Committee of T-Mobile International. From 2005-2008, he was CEO and Chief Sales Officer for T-Mobile Germany. From January 2007 to 2008, he also served as a member of the Management Board of Deutsche Telekom's wireline division.

Mr. Humm began his career in 1982 at Procter & Gamble. From 1986-1992, Mr. Humm was with the consulting firm McKinsey in Germany and in Los Angeles – California. From 1992-1999, he was an executive with the grocery retailer Tengelmann in Germany, where he became a member of the Executive Board in 1996 and in 1998 CEO of their food-discounter Plus.

From 2000-2002, Mr. Humm was an executive with the online retailer Amazon, where he held roles as Managing Director of Amazon Germany and France, and VP Europe. He earned his degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and MBA from the IMEDE in Switzerland.

The company also announced that Jim Alling, chief operating officer of T-Mobile USA, will take over the duties of chief executive officer on an interim basis.
