Padraig McManus new chairman of eircom

Padraig McManusDecember 27, 2012, Dublin, Ireland - eircom Group, a telecommunications company, announces that Padraig McManus has been appointed non-executive chairman of eircom group, effective January 1, 2013.
Mr. McManus, the former Chief Executive of ESB Group, served for the past six years as a board member of the Conference Board of the US, is currently on the board of the Economic and Social Research Institute of Ireland (ESRI) and is Chairman of the National Maternity Hospital Foundation. Mr. McManus holds a degree in engineering from UCD. He will take over from Ned Sullivan, who is stepping down at the end of December.

Mr. Sullivan was appointed as an independent director and Chairman of the Board of eircom on 30 October 2008. He is currently Chairman of Greencore Group plc. He is the former Group Managing Director of Glanbia plc and has held various senior management positions in Grand Metropolitan plc in London and Dublin. He holds both BComm and MBS degrees.
