Maori TV CEO resigns

Jim MatherApril 22, 2013, Auckland, New Zealand - Maori Television, a New Zealand broadcaster, announces the resignation of long-serving chief executive officer Jim Mather.
Mr. Mather was appointed Chief Executive of Maori Television in February 2005. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Henley Management College in England and a Bachelor of Business Studies.

Prior to joining Maori Television, he was the Chief Executive of the Pacific Business Trust. A qualified accountant by profession, he has held a variety of private sector roles including General Manager of a marine engineering business and Financial Controller for a local subsidiary of a Swiss multi-national.

Aligned with his commercial background, he is also a former officer in the New Zealand Army and was awarded the Sword of Honour in recognition of his distinguished achievements in officer training.

After Maori Television hosted the first World Indigenous Television Broadcasting Conference in Auckland in March 2008, Mr. Mather was appointed the inaugural Chairman of the World Indigenous Television Broadcasters Network from 2008 to 2010. He is presently studying part-time towards a PhD in Maori economic development through AUT University.
