Ken Smith named president of Alagasco

Ken SmithMarch 12, 2015, Birmingham, Al., USA - Alagasco, a natural gas utility, announced that Ken Smith will become president of Alagasco beginning April 1, 2015.
Mr. Smith is currently vice president of system integrity for Alagasco. Mr. Smith earned his engineering degree from Auburn University and then joined Alagasco as an industrial marketing representative. With more than 34 years of natural gas industry experience he has held many positions at Alagasco.

He worked his way up to become manager of technical services, director of engineering services, division manager, and assistant vice president of technical services. For the past 17 years, he has been an officer of the company, holding positions such as vice president of operations and vice president of technical and transportation services.

Mr. Smith's leadership extends to the national industry, having served in top-level positions with the American Gas Association and the Gas Technology Institute. He is also active in the Alabama Natural Gas Association.

Current Alagasco President and COO Dudley Reynolds will retire at the end of March.
