John Flannery named president and CEO Of GE India

John L. FlanneryOctober 29, 2009, Fairfield, Conn., USA - General Electric Company announced the appointment of John L. Flannery as president and CEO of GE's business operations in India.
Prior to assuming his role at GE Capital in January 2009, Mr. Flannery was president and chief executive officer of GE Commercial Finance, Asia. Before his role at GE Commercial Finance, Asia, he was managing director and business leader of the Bank Loan Group (BLG) for GE's Corporate Financial Services business.

Prior to BLG, Mr. Flannery was president and chief executive officer of GE Equity, the private equity arm of GE Capital. At GE Equity, Flannery was responsible for a multi-billion dollar global portfolio of investments focused on strategic growth capital, venture capital and leveraged buyouts.

Mr. Flannery has held a number of leadership positions in the leveraged finance and private equity sectors, including two years as president and chief executive officer, GE Capital, Argentina and Chile. He is a graduate of Fairfield University and holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
