Joe Kaeser replaces Peter Loescher as Siemens CEO

Joe KaeserJuly 31, 2013, Berlin, Germany - Siemens AG has appointed longtime finance chief Joe Kaeser as its new chief executive, effective August 1, 2013.
Mr. Kaeser is a member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG with responsibilities for corporate finance and controlling, siemens financial services, siemens real estate, equity investments, and global shared services.

In 1980 Mr. Kaeser joined Siemens AG, Components Group, and then went to Discrete Components Division as Head of Business Administration, following by the position of Finance Director at semiconductor plant in Regensburg, Germany, and after that he was name Finance Director of Semiconductors Group. He was also Head of Accounting and Product Planning.

Mr. Kaeser also worked at Siemens Semiconductors, Malacca, Malaysia as Head of Business Administration Projects, Discrete Semiconductors Division as Head of Business Administration, Opto Semiconductors Division as Head of Business Administration, Siemens Microelectronics Inc. as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and Siemens AG Corporate Finance Accounting Unit as Controlling and Taxes officer.

Since April 2001 Mr. Kaeser is a member of the Group Executive Management of the Information and Communication Mobile Group. He was also named Chief Strategy Officer of Siemens AG and then he was appointed as Chief Financial Officer of the company. He studied business administration.

The current CEO Peter Löscher will resign his position at the end of the day today and leave the Managing Board of Siemens AG by mutual consent.
