Harbin Electric Company appoints Fu-chun Fan as director

Harbin Electric CompanyJune 26, 2013, Beijing, China - Harbin Electric Company announced that it has appointed Fu-chun Fan as an independent non-executive director.
Mr. Fan will also be a supervising member of the audit committee, and member of the nomination committee.

Mr. Fan, a master of business administration degree holder, is currently a honorary president and chairman of the board of strategy of Shanghai Futures and Derivatives Research Institute, a member of Shenzhen-Hong Kong Cooperation Advisory Committee in Qianhai, a visiting professor of Hunan University and an independent supervisor of PetroChina Company.

Mr. Fan was previously a director of business management office of Beijing Tooling Factory, a director of system reform office of Beijing No.1 Light Industry Bureau) and a vice director of economic department of All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce.

Mr. Fan was a director of the Department of Listed Company Supervision of China Securities Regulation Commission in 1993, a vice chairman and party committee member of China Securities Regulation Commission in 1997, a vice party secretary and vice chairman of China Securities Regulation Commission in 2002 and a member of the Economic Committee of the 11th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in 2008.

Mr. Fan has been appointed as an independent director of the Company since June 2013. He has extensive experience in economic management, finance and securities and management of listing companies.
