Connacher Oil and Gas names Merle Johnson COO and director

Connacher Oil and GasDecember 8, 2015, Calgary, AB, Canada - Connacher Oil and Gas, a crude oil and natural gas company, has appointed Merle Johnson, formerly the company's COO, as COO and a director.
Mr. Johnson has 19 years of combined experience in conventional oil and gas, thermal oil and mining. He joined Connacher in June 2007. He was promoted to vice-president in 2009 and to chief operating officer in 2012.

Mr. Johnson began his career as a mechanical engineer in oil and gas and moved into production and operations at the Belle Plaine potash mine in Saskatchewan. In 2001, he moved to Calgary to work on the construction and start-up of Cenovus's Christina Lake SAGD project and has been involved in thermal oil production for the past 14 years.

Mr. Johnson, a member of the Metis Nation of Alberta, is a PEng with a bachelor's degree from the University of Saskatchewan and a master of business administration from the University of Calgary.
