Chariot Oil & Gas names exploration director

Chariot Oil & GasDecember 17, 2009, London, United Kingdom - Chariot Oil & Gas Limited, an oil and gas exploration company, announced the appointment of Matthew Taylor as Exploration Director.
Mr. Taylor is a petroleum geologist who has worked in the industry for nearly thirty years. Mr. Taylor began his career with BP Exploration in 1980 and subsequently held senior geologist posts with BHP Petroleum and Triton Energy. Further to this Mr. Taylor consulted and advised a range of clients including Chevron, Dana Petroleum and Marathon Oil on New Venture projects.

After that, Mr. Taylor played a major role in the acquisition of exploration acreage in Namibia, Oman, Senegal, Togo and Western Europe working for Hunt Oil. Since 2006, Mr. Taylor has continued to provide strategic exploration advice and geological expertise to international oil companies through his consultancy agency GEO International Limited.

Mr. Taylor is a member of the AAPG and a Fellow of the Geological Society of London and holds an honours degree in Geology from the University of Durham.

The company also appoints Julia Kemper as Senior Staff Geophysicist. Ms. Kemper has more than 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry having worked as a geophysicist for both BP and Shell and more recently as senior geophysicist with Hunt Oil and MND Exploration & Production. Ms. Kemper specialises in the development, interpretation and evaluation of 2D and 3D seismic programmes as well as the assessment of new opportunities.

Ms. Kemper has a long track record working in Namibia and her knowledge of the country contributed to securing the offshore acreage for Hunt Oil in 2005. Ms. Kemper holds a degree in Geology from Trinity College Dublin as well as an MSc in Exploration Seismology from Oxford University.
