Ceona appoints new chief executive officer

CeonaJune 17, 2015, London, United Kingdom - Ceona, SURF contractor with deepwater subsea construction capabilities, has announced that Mark Preece has been appointed as chief executive officer.
Mr. Preece joined Ceona in June 2013 as Executive Vice President of Commercial and Business Development and brought his extensive senior management, commercial, operations and business development experience gained both in the UK and international Oil & Gas and Offshore Renewable energy markets.

Before joining Ceona Mr. Preece was CEO at the tier-two subsea start-up company Reef Subsea, SVP Business Development & Marketing at Acergy, Managing Director with Bibby Line Ltd, and has worked with Technip SA, Coflexip Stena and Stena Offshore where he was Managing Director Canada & Caspian, and Senior Vice President UK and International Business Development. He has been associated with major SURF and EPCI projects win-it and do-it.

In his earlier career he was a Ship's Master, a Marine Superintendent and a Project Manager. Mr. Preece is a Master Mariner with an MBA from Henley Management College.

Mr. Preece takes over from current CEO, Steve Preston, who after 40 years in the industry has decided to retire from operational management and step down.

Mr. Preston has worked tirelessly to establish Ceona as a key subsea player over the last three years, having been a prime mover and overseeing the construction of the company’s purpose-built flagship, Ceona Amazon.
