Carl Symon and Warren Tucker to join Thomas Cook Group board

Thomas CookOctober 3, 2013, London, United Kingdom - Thomas Cook Group plc, a travel company, announces that Carl Symon and Warren Tucker will join the board as independent non-executive directors, effective today.
Mr. Symon will become the Senior Independent Director and Mr. Tucker will become the Chairman of the Remuneration Committee following the Company’s AGM in February 2014, when Roger Burnell will retire from the Board.

Mr. Symon has extensive global business operations and management experience, having retired in 2001 from IBM after a long career, during which he held various senior positions, both globally and as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of IBM UK.

He is currently a non-executive Director of BAE Systems plc. His former positions include non-executive Director of BT Group plc, Rolls-Royce Group plc and Rexam plc and Chairman of HMV Group plc.

Mr. Tucker has significant experience in international business and strategic transformations. He was, from 2003 until May 2013, Chief Financial Officer of Cobham plc.

He is a chartered accountant and has previously held senior finance positions at British Airways plc and Cable & Wireless plc. He has been a non-executive Director of Reckitt Benckiser Group plc since February 2010.
