Bunge announces leadership changes in Canada

BungeJanuary 21, 2013, St. Louis, Ms., USA - Bunge North America, a food and feed ingredient company, announced that Richard A. Watson, who has served as country manager since 2008, will retire effective March 31, 2013.
Mr. Watson was appointed country manager of Canada for Bunge North America in 2008. Mr. Watson joined Bunge in 2002 with the acquisition of Cereol in 2002. He previously held a number of commercial leadership roles in Oilseed and Oil Processing for CanAmera Foods and Central Soya, subsidiaries of Cereol, as well as with Procter & Gamble.

A former representative on the Canola Council of Canada and past Chairman of Canadian Oilseed Processors Association, Mr. Watson received a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Guelph.

With this change, Karl Gerrand will join Bunge from Viterra, Inc., as managing director, Canada.

Mr. Gerrand joins Bunge from Viterra, Inc., where he worked for eight years, most recently as chief operating officer of global processing operations. Prior to joining Viterra, Mr. Gerrand also served as co-founder and president of Can-Oat Milling, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Saskatchewan Wheat Pool.

Mr. Gerrand is active in industry associations, having served on the board of directors and on the executive committee of the North American Millers Association. He has a bachelor's degree from the University of Manitoba.
