Axion Power names David Gelbaum, David Anthony and Joseph Bartlett to board

Axion PowerSeptember 30, 2009, New Castle, Penn., USA - Axion Power International announced that it has expanded its board of directors with David Gelbaum, David Anthony and Joseph Bartlett.
Mr. Gelbaum is a noted private investor in environmental oriented funds and trustee of The Quercus Trust Fund (well known for regularly supporting clean technology and "green earth" initiatives). For 17 years he worked as a securities analyst at Oakley Sutton.

Mr. Anthony an experienced entrepreneur, venture capitalist and educator, is managing director of New York based 21 Ventures. Mr. Anthony has held the managing director position with this venture capital firm since 2003. Mr. Anthony also serves on the boards of Agent Video Intelligence, 3GSolar, BioPetroClean, Juice Wireless, Open Energy and VOIP Logic. Prior to 21 Ventures, Anthony launched Notorious Entertainment, a developer of multimedia brands. Mr. Anthony has a bachelor's degree in Economics from George Washington University and an MBA from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.

Mr. Bartlett is counsel to The Quercus Trust, serves on the boards of directors of a number of clean technology companies and has practiced corporate and securities law since 1985. From September 2004 until August 2008 Mr. Bartlett was a partner at Greenberg Glusker LLP in Los Angeles. From September 2000 until September 2004 he was a partner at Spolin Silverman Cohen and Bartlett.
