AuRico Gold executive chairman resigns

Colin BennerJune 12, 2013, Toronto, ON, Canada - AuRico Gold Inc., a gold producer, announced that Colin Benner will tender his resignation for health reasons, effective July 1, 2013.
Mr. Benner has been on a leave of absence since April 30, 2013. Mr. Benner is an experienced mining executive. With more than 40 years in the mining industry, he has held senior management and executive roles in Canada and internationally.

Most recently, he was Chairman of PBS Coals Ltd., Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Skye Resources, and Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lundin Mining Corporation and EuroZinc Mining Corporation.

Mr. Benner also serves on a number of public mining company boards in Canada. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario; the Canadian Society of Professional Engineers; the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia; the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Nunavut; the Society of Mining Engineers of the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers; and the Canadian Institute of Mining. He is also a Registered ICD-DP.
