American Axle & Manufacturing appoints two vice presidents

Terry J. Woychowski has joined AAM as Senior Vice President, Engineering & Quality.

He is a former General Motors Corporation (GM) executive, and he most recently served as GM's Vice President, Global Quality & Vehicle Launches.

In a career that has spanned more than 30 years in the automotive industry, he has directed total product engineering of full size trucks and led total program management for the engineering and manufacturing of cars and trucks worldwide.

Mark S. Barrett has been appointed Group Vice President, Procurement and Program Management.

He joined AAM in 1994 as a Staff Project Engineer. Since then, he has served in various engineering positions with increasing responsibility including Director, Mid Size Axle Programs; Executive Director, Released & Domestic Programs; and Executive Director, Powertrain, Driveshaft & Halfshaft Engineering.

Mr. Barrett also served as Executive Director, Axle & Drivetrain; Executive Director, Engineering & Global Prototype; Vice President, Engineering & Product Development; Group Vice President, Engineering, Product Development & Procurement; and Group Vice President, Engineering and Procurement.

Mr. Barrett began his automotive career as a co-op student in 1984 for General Motors.

Prior to joining AAM in 1994, he served in various Manufacturing and Engineering positions with GM.

He served as Project Engineer for GM's full size truck axles and passenger car axles, as well as Senior Liaison Engineer - Axles at GM's Technical Center and Staff Project Engineer - Driveshafts.

He received a bachelor of science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University.
