ALSAC/St. Jude names Richard C. Shadyac, Jr. as CEO

St. JudeJune 12, 2009, Memphis, Tenn., USA - ALSAC/St. Jude, the fundraising organization of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, announced Richard C. Shadyac, Jr. as Chief Executive Officer effective September 1, 2009.
Mr. Shadyac earned his B.A. from Marquette University and a law degree from Loyola University in Chicago. Before assuming the role as Chair of the Board in FY 2008, Mr. Shadyac served as Vice Chair. He served on the Board from 1992-1993 and was reappointed in 2000; he has been a volunteer fundraiser for decades. A practicing attorney for 27 years, Mr. Shadyac has been an attorney and a partner in the Washington D.C./Northern Virginia law firm, Feldesman Tucker Leifer Fidell LLP. He has been a member of the Arlington and Fairfax County Bar Associations, the District of Columbia Bar, the American Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar.

Shadyac has been involved with St. Jude in various capacities for many years, most recently serving as chairman/president of the ALSAC Board of Directors. He succeeds interim CEO David L. McKee, who will continue to serve as Chief Operating Officer.
