Airports Company South Africa names CIO

Sello MmakauOctober 30, 2014, Johannesburg, South Africa - Airports Company South Africa has appointed Sello Mmakau as its new chief information officer, a newly created role for the company.
Previously CIO at the Department of Home Affairs, during his almost six years at Home Affairs, Mr. Mmakau was also involved in collaborating with the banking industry to develop automated online fingerprint verification and implemented the new South African Smart ID card.

Prior to his position at Home Affairs, he worked at the Department of Health, the State Information Technology Agency and at Sasol Ltd. He was selected as the Visionary CIO of 2012 by the Computer Society of South Africa, Gartner, ITWeb and the Gordon Institute of Business Science.

Mr. Mmakau has a BA degree, a Master of Business Leadership degree and several IT-related qualifications.
