Xiaomi unveiled it's new flagship smartphone, the Mi4, packed with the latest and speediest technologies and with an affordable price. This is a device that will take a significant market share from other manufacturers.

Xiaomi Mi4The Xiaomi Mi4 is available in Italy with two color options, black and white. The 5 inch screen features resolution of 1080 x 1920, with pixel density of 441ppi. Xiaomi is marketing the device as the fastest phone in the world and with a reason: It has a quad-core 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor and Adreno 330 chip for graphics. There is 3GB of RAM on board, there is also a 16GB model, and a 64GB model for Asia.

Xiaomi Mi4Both the 13MP rear snapper and the 8MP front-facing camera feature sensors made by Sony. A 3080 mAh battery keeps the power running. The device runs Xiaomi's custom MIUI operating system, a skinned version of Android that allows for more customization and removes the Android app drawer in favour of putting all the programs on the home screen. Xiaomi also unveiled a cheap fitness tracker MiBand. The device can track the wearer's sleep and steps and can also be used to unlock Xiaomi's phones without the need for a password.

Xiaomi Mi4Although the phone will only be available in the Asian Pacific region (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and India), the Mi4's design makes it clear that Xiaomi is taking aim at the premium market currently dominated by Samsung and Apple. Xiaomi's Italian distributor has started taking pre-orders for the Mi4 on its website, so we can expect the device in Europe too, and that's a very good move.

Xiaomi Mi4The company hopes it will sell 100 million phones in 2015 and with the Mi4 it's on a good way to achieve that. Even on richer markets where customers can pay more, the price is very important and Xiaomi shines on that field too: The Mi 4 will be available July 29 for 1999 yuan or approximately $320, almost half of the price of iPhone 5S. So, the Mi4 is much cheaper and still offers the newest technology, and great speed and design.
