For the price of models we present here you can buy a bunch of tickets from New York to Hawaii but the sound they deliver justifies their prices.

Audio-Technica ATH-W5000Audio-Technica ATH-W5000 (why those long names?) headphones are equipped with striped ebony housing for great acoustic characteristics, excellent power, and ultra-comfortable fit. Drivers equipped with neodymium magnet systems are designed exclusively for the W5000 and they incorporate a Permendur magnetic circuit with great magnetic characteristics.

There is high-quality oxygen free copper voice coils for ultra-efficient signal transfer, lightweight magnesium alloy frame, double air damping system for deep bass reproduction, and gold-plated stereo connector.

Abyss AB-1266Abyss Headphones AB-1266 by JPS Labs are made in the USA and their creators put a lot of effort to show that the U.S. industry can provide an excellent piece of Hi-Fi equipment. Rigid chassis has left/right side frames and structural adjustable two piece headband. All components made from solid aluminum for and integrated resonance control for minimal added coloration. Proprietary planar magnetic transducer design utilizing a very thin, very low mass diaphragm.

The result is great bandwidth and low level detail retrieval in the bass, mids, and highs.

Audeze LCD-3The Audeze LCD-3 has a dynamic enveloping sound with powerful bass, a inviting midrange and open extended highs. The ear cups of LCD-3 are made from precision-crafted hand-selected Zebrano wood with sloped ear pads of either premium lambskin leather or a leather-free microsuede. The ear pads are designed with specially-crafted foam offering the best firmness and acoustical balance.

Frequency response goes from 5 Hz to 20 KHz, usable high-frequency extension of 50 KHz, total harmonic distortion (THD) is Less than 1%, and maximum power handling is 15 W.

Fostex TH-900The TH-900, the first high-end headphones by Fostex, feature the newly designed driver unit and bio-dynamic diaphragm, traditional Japanese lacquered Urushi housing by a 100 years old artisan group, and selected cable. Taken all together, those components deliver a wide stereo field, high resolution, and transparent reproduction. The housings are made of Japanese Cherry Birch, the Japanese specialty with rigid and dense texture for maximum acoustic performance.

We don't have to say more; when Japanese are working, they are working big time.
