Asus F555LA: Good for business, good for budgetDale Davies ▼ | March 4, 2016
Powered by a modest Core i3-5010 processor with 4GB of RAM, the Asus F55LA is not the fastest notebook out there but it's hard to find such a good business device at such an affordable price.
Laptop Asus presented a nice device with some surprising features
The first thing you will notice is the display. You'd think that 1080p display belongs to $800+ device and you'd be right, but here it is, in this much cheaper laptop with HD resolution suitable for business task where you need a large screen estate. There is not much of reflections because of it's matte finish, and just viewing angles could be a bit better but we'll not take that as a big downside. The laptop is light and well-built, so it doesn't look like a cheap, plastic device you are afraid to touch firmly.
Since this is a budget laptop, it seems there's no much hope for a decent battery life, but the Asus F55LA does surprisingly well: in real life its battery is alive for almost six hours, something that you'd expect from way expensive devices. It's keyboard has a deep travel and every writer will congratulate that, as well as the full-size arrow keys and 10-key number pad. However, the keyboard feels a bit springy, that's the best way to describe it, and it may take some time to get used to.
If you are business user and want a nice computer for yourself, or even for your team, you can't go wrong with the Asus F555LA. The design is good, batter life is sold, display is sharp and crisp, and there's enough of connectivity options for everyday work. Maybe you'll need some time time to get used to its keyboard, we think there are better options there, but for good productivity at a nice price we think you should seriously take into consideration this Asus. ■
