Ukraine suggested an agreement on free trade zone to Egypt. The Egyptian side, in turn, is keen to cooperate.

"This year our trade with Egypt has seen an upward trend; in the future we hope to sign a free trade agreement between Ukraine and Egypt," said Pyatnitsky.

The deputy minister emphasized that Ukraine and Egypt do not directly compete in agriculture, thus, mutually beneficial bilateral trade in these areas is likely to develop.
According to Pyatnitsky, not only is Ukrainian market interested in exports but also in imports. For example, Egyptian fruit tends to be in great demand in Ukraine. ■
