Ukraine, Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Poland intend to create a new route for goods transportation from countries of the Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf to Europe and back, an alternative to the sea one.

Trade   More than 1000 kilometers shorter
Annual trade turnover with India, Pakistan and countries of the Persian Gulf is about 72 MMT, including more than 25 MMT from European countries.

Now 94% of this traffic is transported through the Indian Ocean, the Suez Canal and the Mediterranean Sea.

The main advantage of the corridor is a short transit route and, consequently, 100-200% less time spent on transportation. About 12-15 days compared to 30-40 days of the seaway.

In addition, this route is more than 1000 kilometers shorter than another land corridor through the territory of Russia, reports UkrAgroConsult.
