"From today, Ukraine is not getting gas from Russia. Transit supplies are as normal," state transport Ukrtransgaz spokesman Maksim Belyavsky said, referring to gas that crosses Ukraine to Europe.

Talks in Vienna between Russia and Ukraine on gas supplies fell apart on Tuesday.

Russia has proposed keeping prices unchanged from the second quarter at $247 per 1,000 cubic metres with a discount of around per 1,000 cubic metres. Kyiv wants better terms.
