U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he rejected a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau because the US is "very unhappy" with trade negotiations.

Canadian and US negotiators have been locked in intense talks in recent weeks to try to secure a deal to replace NAFTA after the Trump administration reached a deal with Mexico.
A deadline of October 1 has been set to present an agreement to the US Congress in order for Canada to join the deal the Trump administration has signed with Mexico. ■
