Romania respects its commitments towards Three Seas Initiative, says minister

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bogdan Aurescu, assured the representatives of the leadership of the Investment Fund of the Three Seas Initiative that Romania respects its commitments towards the objectives of the Initiative, commitment reconfirmed through the current Governing Program.

The head of Romanian diplomacy welcomed, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) headquarters, the representatives of the leadership of the Investment Fund of the Three Seas Initiative, present in Bucharest to attend the first conference organized by the Fund in the series of conferences to present the activity and objectives of the Fund.

"The dialogue allowed the review of developments recorded in the operationalization process of the Investment Fund, from the moment of its launch on the margin of the first Business Forum of the Three Seas Initiative, taking place in Bucharest, as part of the third Summit of the Initiative, hosted successfully by President Klaus Iohannis in the September 17-18, 2018 period.

Minister Bogdan Aurescu hailed the organization, in Romania, of the first conference to present the Investment Fund and reiterated the commitment of our country towards the full operationalization, as a significant practical dimension of the Three Seas Initiative.

Minister Bogdan Aurescu emphasized, in this context, the importance of participation of all 12 states participating in the Initiative to the activity of the Fund, as well as attracting other significant investors, including from the United States.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs also made reference to the commitment of the President of Romania and the Government of which he is part towards the objectives of the Initiative, commitment reconfirmed through the current Governing Program," a MAE release mentions.

Bogdan Aurescu showed that Romania will continue to cooperate closely with all other participating states and other partners, to capitalize on the potential of the Three Seas Initiative to stimulate economic growth in the region by increased connectivity and contributing to the consolidation of the EU cohesion and the trans-Atlantic relation.
