Sanctions   To protect national interests of Russia
The goal is to protect national interests and enforce the presidential decree which established the ban on the import of food products from the U.S., the European Union, Albania, Australia, Iceland, Canada, Liechtenstein, Norway and Montenegro.

It is also meant to help stop the "unscrupulous import of such products without quality controls or the proper adherence to the conditions of transport and storage, which can be dangerous for human health," reported the department.

The hotline will be available to anyone willing to provide information about any such violations from 9.00 to 18.00 each day.
