"The decision of the EU Council is clear and transparent: the sanctions can not be canceled, if the conditions stipulated in the Minsk agreements are not implemented," Poroshenko said.
He recalled that Moscow should ensure return of control over part of the eastern border to Ukraine, withdrawal all foreign troops from the Ukrainian territory, release of all hostages, settlement of humanitarian disaster in Donbas, including provision of unfettered access for international humanitarian assistance, resumption of the banking system activity and the economic recovery in the occupied territories.
"Until this is achieved, sanctions can not be lifted. I am sure that if these conditions are not met, the sanctions will be prolonged in June," he said. ■
