The potential Asian buyers could pay up to 40% higher prices in comparison with what is paid in other destinations for the same product, the President of government-run Sierra Exportadora program Alfonso Velasquez said.

"In this context, avocado is expected to display a great potential," Velasquez told. According to the chairman, asparagus tend to be commonly exported to Japanese and South Korean markets.
