"We, Peruvian entrepreneurs, are discovering that the Asian market offers better opportunities. The Asian continent is willing to pay premium-prices for high-quality Peruvian products, so the production could be directed to its markets," he told Andina news agency.

According to Velasquez, Peruvian goods, such as: fruits and vegetables are very popular whether those are "fresh, value-added, frozen or canned." He went on to add the demand for mango has increased, above all in South Korea and China.

"In this context, avocado is expected to display a great potential," Velasquez told. According to the chairman, asparagus tend to be commonly exported to Japanese and South Korean markets.

Likewise, cranberries and organic raspberries are to enter the South Korean and Japanese markets, he forecasted.
