At present Pakistan Railways only have 45 booking offices over the country. But now with the takeoff of this facility travelers will have admittance to 45,000 UBL Omni branches.
It is initially introduced for the routes Lahore-Rawalpindi Railcar and Islamabad-Karachi Green Line Train. And it is anticipated to scale to other routes within a time period of 8 months.
BookMe, a ticketing startup based out of Lahore, for bus travelers is already offering many services. The startup also provides an API to incorporate to third party applications.
With Pakistan Railways speeding up in technology implementation, there are probabilities that the same system will be made well-organized to use for other transportation means in the country. ■
