Minister says Greece needs to attract investments

Greece’s new Economy Minister Dimitris Papadimitriou said that the country needs to attract investments remaining in the euro and the eurozone.

He is refuting his past arguments for the introduction of a dual currency so as to overcome the Greek crisis.

"Up until last week I was an academic and academics can say many things. But when academics need to implement a program, they realize that some things they had said before may be wrong,” he said during the handover ceremony with his predecessor Yiorgos Stathakis.

Papadimitriou said that Greece can attract investments in the pharmaceutical, energy, agricultural tourism and cultural industry areas.
