Lithuania, Japan discuss promotion of investments

Lithuania's Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevicius being on the working visit to Tokyo met with chair of the Committee on Europe of Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) Yoshimitsu Kobayashi and other representatives, reports LETA/ELTA.

During the meeting, the issues related to the promotion of the investments in Lithuania and the course of the EU-Japan negotiations over the free-trade agreement were discussed.

The Japan's business representatives expressed the gratefulness for Lithuania for the country's supporting the process of the negotiations and ascertained the determination for the constructive dialogue.

During the meeting with the heads of the company Hitachi, Mr. Linkevicius thanked for the participation in the project of the new nuclear power plant in Lithuania which could be significant for all 3 Baltic States while solving the strategic energy issues.

Mr. Linkevicius informed that the Baltic Council of Ministers was charged with the duty to analyse and to present the open questions related to this project to the heads of the governments.
