The States voted unanimously to approve the agreement, which was signed in Dubai in April by the UAE Minister of State for Finance, Obaid Al Tayer, and the Jersey Chief Minister, Senator Ian Gorst.

"This unanimous decision by the States finalizes the legal procedures in Jersey for the implementation of this agreement," the island's Minister for External Relations, Senator Sir Philip Bailhache, told WAM.

"We place a high priority on the further development of our relations with the UAE, and this is an important step in that process," Sir Philip said.
