"The TPO has not dispatched any trade mission to the U.S.," Afkhami Rad said in an interview with the Tasnim News Agency. The Iranian official added that the organization has no plan to send such delegation to the U.S. in the coming months.

Earlier on Saturday, the TPO had declared "Iran’s World Trade Center" an illegal and fake organization, warning the country’s merchants and businessmen to avoid the trap of accepting an offer by the so-called center for a business trip to the U.S. city of New York.

"Iran’s World Trade Center does not exist and lacks any legal place," TPO, a subsidiary of the country’s Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Trade, said in a proclamation.

It also noted that the fake institution has sent out mass messages to mobile phone users, inviting them to join a trade delegation that is going to visit New York.

The illegal organization has nothing to do with the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran or the World Trade Organization (WTO), the statement added, warning the Iranian people not to be deceived by word similarities.
