Iran calls Japanese firms to seize post-sanction opportunities

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi called on the Japanese companies to seize the opportunity of the post-sanctions era for taking in joint ventures with Iran.

"If the Japanese firms make serious hesitation to compete with European, South Korean and Chinese companies, they will lag behind," Qassemi said in a meeting with chief editorial writer of Kyodo News Agency Hiroki Sugita.

He reiterated that because Iran is the most secure country in the Middle East, it is a good choice for foreign investors, including Japan.

"Iran's strategic look is towards east and Asia and it depends on the Japanese companies and officials to take correct decision; Iran can choose its partners," Qassemi added.
