Greece considers establishment of task force for EU funds management

Greece is reportedly mulling the establishment of a task force for the management of the 32 billion euros that will receive from the EU’s 750 billion euros Recovery Fund.

Daily Kathimerini wrote that Athens has to submit program requests for the 70% of the amount by the end of 2022 and the remaining in 2023, while the disbursements of the funds are expected by the end of 2026.

Also, Greece is set to receive some 38 billion euros in the context of the EU’s multi-annual financial framework which is budgeted at some 1.07 trillion.

“We are returning to Athens with a package that exceeds 70 billion euros, which we will manage with responsibility and prudence for the productive reconstruction," Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said early Tuesday, after the five day talks with European leaders who agreed on the 750 billion euros stimulus package.
