Carla Qualtrough, Minister of Sport and Persons with Disabilities and Member of Parliament for Delta, on behalf of Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science, and Economic Development and Minister responsible for Western Economic Diversification Canada, announced that.

This investment will help VIMC attract international shipping companies to establish, expand or retain shipping operations on Canada’s West Coast.

VIMC provides a vital service that promotes Vancouver as the global location for the international shipping market. By marketing Canada’s strategic location and business opportunities, VIMC aims to attract up to eight regional headquarters or branch offices, $18 million in investments and approximately 200 direct and indirect professional jobs.

Vancouver is North America’s third largest port by total tonnage of goods shipped, and plays an important role as a major economic driver in our economy.
