Germany to help Uruguay develop Industry 4.0 digital technology

Industry, Energy and Mining Minister Carolina Cosse and Uruguay-Germany Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK) president Paul Riezler signed a cooperation agreement to promote Industry 4.0 digital technology in Uruguay.

The agreement will boost cooperation in areas and programs of mutual interest, and will focus on activities such as automation and technology transfer.

“Industry 4.0 is about a new production system that incorporates a high percentage of digitalization, about the introduction of robotic techniques, but also about information management to change production,” Cosse told reporters.

“It is about taking digitalization to its maximum expression,” the minister said, noting Germany’s leadership in the development of Industry 4.0.
