The Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) projects are located at Tam Ky in central Quang Nam Province and Pleiku City in Gia Lai Province and have a combined initial budgeted cost of roughly $4.5 million.

“The projects are being funded via preferential loans from the Finnish government,” Deputy Minister Vuong unveiled at the launch.

Vuong pointed out that in total the Finnish government has provided EVN an estimated $11.5 million in preferential aid to develop the electrical grid in four cities across the country since 2006 and expressed gratitude for the assistance.

Work by the general contractor, Finland’s ABB Oy, has now begun and is scheduled for completion by the end of the second quarter of 2018.
