EU leaders should postpone making a decision about moving to the next phase of Brexit negotiations later in October as "sufficient progress has not yet been made" on three key issues, according to the European Parliament in a resolution.

The resolution was supported by 557 deputies. There were 92 voting against, while 29 abstained during the vote.

While the vote is not binding, it reflects the current mood in the EU parliament, which will have to approve any final deal between the bloc and Britain.
