Estonia to permit entry for citizens of Baltic States and Finland without quarantine

Authorities in Estonia have announced that citizens of Lithuania, Latvia and Finland will no longer need to comply with quarantine rules, upon their arrival, if they present a negative result of the Coronavirus test, not older than 48 hours, Estonia’s government has announced.

The decision will be effective, starting from Monday, October 19. However, the country’s recommendation to avoid unnecessary travel continues to be valid, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.

“By the decision of the government, we want to ensure that Estonia maintains the essential normal life and the opportunity to travel in case of unavoidable need. In the spring, the expanded Baltic cooperation proved to be very good, and we still want to harmonize the regional approach, which would help our countries and people to cope more smoothly with the COVID-19 international pandemic,” Estonia’s Minister of Social Affairs, Tanel Kiik said.
