The minister explained at the Round Table radio-television program on Tuesday, that part of those actions included in the national plan for the prevention and control of the disease, such as teleworking, will remain in a more favorable situation due to its effectiveness.

She stated that over half a million people work in Cuba under the modality of remote and teleworking, as part of the measures adopted to contribute to social isolation.

Feito reiterated that the wage protection of interrupted workers is maintained at 60 percent from the second month onward, after receiving their full salary in the first month.

Regarding the self-employed sector (private), the official reported that the activities most affected by the temporary suspension are contract workers, transporters, house renting, gastronomic and cafeteria services.

She also commented that many readjusted the way to provide their services, which allowed them to remain active, while highlighting their contribution to the confrontation to Covid-19.

The Cuban minister highlighted, as on other occasions, the support of social workers who attend vulnerable groups in the country, given the health situation.

Cuban health authorities reported nine cases of Covid-19 on Monday, bringing the number of infections to 2,292.
