Colombia’s Ministry of Information and Communications Technologies (Mintic) has announced a series of measures aimed at camouflaging telecommunications infrastructure in nine cities.
Communications   To reduce the visual impact
Various techniques will be used to “reduce the visual impact, the perception of danger or dissatisfaction in the community" with regard to telecoms infrastructure such as mobile phone towers, said Mintic in a statement, adding that the aim was to “improve the conditions for the deployment of infrastructure."

he measures will initially be implemented in the cities of Bogota, Bucaramanga, Cali, Barranquilla, Cartagena, Tunja, Ibague, Armenia and Cartago, telecompaper reports.

Earlier this year, trade association Asomovil said around 7,000 new antennas were needed throughout the country, 70 percent them in departmental capitals, to meet the increased demand in data traffic.
