The United States Department of Commerce announced its preliminary ruling in the anti-subsidy investigation against Chinese photovoltaic companies on June 3, imposing import tariffs of between 18.56 and 35.21% on Chinese firms' solar products.

Following the ruling, the U.S. is scheduled to announce its decision in its anti-dumping case against Chinese solar companies on July 28, the newspaper noted.

This is a setback for Chinese companies, several of which had finally posted a profit during recent quarters, as the sector experienced a downturn earlier, according to the newspaper.
