Taking into account the internal and external currency debt of Belarus, the country needs $1.5 billion, Amarin told the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament.

The minister said that Belarus is negotiating new loan programs with the Eurasian Fund of stabilization and development (EFSR) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Touching upon $2 billion loan from the EFSR, the minister said he expects a positive decision before the end of this year.

The head of the finance department said that a possibility to obtain the loan from the ESFR is closer than one from the IMF, with which negotiations were under way for 3 billion dollars.

Belarus planned to place up to $1 billion in Eurobonds in 2016, Amarin said.
