The work along Interstates 90 and 190 will extend the life of these bridges by an additional 10 to 15 years and improve the safety of these vital roadways.

"The Thruway's continued reliability and accessibility is critical for Western New York's economy and its residents," Governor Cuomo said. "This project continues this administration's commitment to investing in infrastructure and fostering growth across New York."

The project will address wear-and-tear of the bridges and significantly extend their lifespan before a major repair or replacement project is needed.

The 23 bridges were selected for repair based on the current condition of bridge joints and substructures, as well as long term plans for each bridge, including already scheduled replacement projects throughout the Western New York region.
